May 31st! CaD Lineup!

Holy crap!  CJ finally gave me the schedule so let’s advertise the crap out this mother.

On May 31st, 2009, CaD is very proud to present some very funny people.

  • Nathan Simmons (Most likely to start and not commit to a bar fight)
  • Marty Derosa (Most likely to say he’s your “wing man” and let you suffer alone.)
  • Josh Orr (Most likely to tell a joke that makes you feel dumb for not being as smart.)
  • Ethan Peldo (Most likely to stand in front of a group of women and freeze.)
  • C.J. Toledano (Most likely to bring up basketball, mac and cheese, and Skittles into every conversation.)
  • Junior Stopka (Most likely to date your mom and make you feel good about it.)

Calling all young funny types.

Our good friends at Fresh Films are looking for “young” comedians for their film projects.

First, they are looking for teens (ages 14-19) interested in making their own comedy films. Click here for information about being on the crew for the film. Last year, they had Paul Scheer (Human Giant), Scott Cohen (Gilmore Girls), and Kevin Clark (School of Rock) in their films.

Also, if you are between the ages of 14-24, they are also having a screenplay contest for their superhero films and comedy films they are making. Click here for more information on it.

May 1st deadline for the screenplay contest. May 15th deadline for the film application. Get on it people!

Happy Easter Everybody!

Easter - the time when we reflect on the resurrection of Jesus Christ, spend time with our families and friends, eating ham, asking your mom for lamb like she made that one year, your mom getting kind of angry saying, “you know, it’s kind of expensive, and I feel weird eating such a beautiful creature,” and you saying, “just because a pig isn’t in our definition of beautiful does it make it easier to consume; besides I love lamb,” and your mom saying, “well, maybe if I felt appreciated more I would make things like lamb more often,” and you and your mom spiraling into verbal fisticuffs bringing up how she never went to that recital in 7th grade that meant a lot to you and how you still owe her $400 but she loves you too much to bring it up, and candy. Sweet delicious candy.

Also, Easter means there will be no Comedy at Don this week. Fear not! We will be back next week with an amazing line-up from across the comedy spectrum. Maybe, we’ll have candy. Especially if someone wants to get us those Cadbury Mini-Eggs with the hard candy shell and the solid chocolate inside. Jesus, those are good.
